What Is a Free Listing Video Teaser, and How Do You Judge One Before You Buy?
A free teaser is a short cinematic cut of your property, about 15 seconds long, made from 3 to 4 of your existing listing photos before you pay for anything. At Legacy Luxury Media it is silent and yours to keep either way. Judge it on one question: does it look like your property and make you want to stay there? If yes, the full walkthrough film is the same style at full length.
What you get with the free teaser
- About 15 seconds. Long enough to see the style, short enough to make quickly.
- 3 to 4 of your photos. The exterior, the room that sells the stay and your best view.
- Silent. No music is added, so you can pair it with your own track later.
- Yours to keep either way. If you never book the full film, you still keep the teaser.
There is no shoot day and no crew. You send your listing link or the photos, and the teaser is built from what you already have.
How to judge the teaser
A teaser is a sample, so treat it like one. Watch it a few times and ask these questions.
Does it still look like your property?
This matters most. Light, color and geometry should stay true to what you shot, and no room should appear that does not exist. If a guest arrives and the place matches the film, the film did its job. If anything looks off, say so. That is what the teaser is for.
Does the motion feel natural?
The camera should feel like it is moving through the space, not sliding a flat photo across the screen. Watch the edges of furniture, doorways and windows as the shot moves.
Does the first shot make you want to see more?
The exterior or the best view usually opens the cut. If the first two seconds would not stop you mid scroll, tell us which of your photos you think is stronger.
Does it match how you want guests to feel?
A lakeside cabin, a vineyard estate and a city loft should not feel the same. Check that the mood fits the stay you are selling.
Does it work where guests will see it?
Watch it on your phone as well as a laptop, since that is where many people will see it on social. Try it with the sound off and with a track you like.
What the teaser does not show you
A 15 second cut from 3 to 4 photos cannot show the full sequence. The full walkthrough film is 60 to 90 seconds from 8 to 12 photos, delivered in 1080p, and runs six scenes in order: the exterior at golden hour, the pool or main outdoor space, twilight with the lights on, the living room, the kitchen and the primary suite. We explained why that order works in What Should a Vacation Rental Listing Video Show, and in What Order?
The teaser shows the style and quality. The full film adds the rest of the stay, plus three vertical cuts for Reels and TikTok.
What happens if the teaser is not right
- A shot is missing. If a hero shot is missing, such as the exterior at dusk, the pool or the kitchen, we tell you exactly which one to grab from your phone.
- Your photos are too weak. We tell you honestly before you pay. For those properties there is a guided shoot kit: a ten minute shot list you film on your phone, which we then make cinematic.
- You do not like it. You keep the teaser and owe nothing.
When to move to the full walkthrough
If the teaser passes the checks above, the full film is the next step. It is $450 flat, with one revision included and a first draft within 72 hours of receiving your photos. You license your photos to us to produce the film, you own the finished film, and we only show it in our portfolio with your written ok.
